1. Introduction

Welcome to FavPins. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Pinterest scheduling and content management web application.

By using FavPins, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any of its terms, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

  • Your name and email address when you register.

  • Profile photo and brand information (profile name, colors, brand voice).

  • Images, titles, descriptions, and links you enter to create Pins.

  • Pinterest connection credentials (OAuth access token).

  • Preferences and settings configured within the app.

2.2 Automatically collected information

  • App usage data (pages visited, actions taken, frequency of use).

  • IP address, browser type, and device information.

  • Session cookies to keep you logged in.

  • Error logs used to improve service performance.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Data from your Pinterest account obtained with your consent via OAuth (name, photo, boards, Pin analytics).

  • Images imported from Google Drive when you enable that integration.

  • Trending keyword data obtained anonymously and in aggregate from the Google Trends API.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve FavPins services.

  • To schedule and publish Pins to your Pinterest account on your behalf.

  • To generate AI-powered content (titles, descriptions, tags) based on trends and your brand voice.

  • To display performance statistics and Pin analytics.

  • To send you service-related notifications (publish confirmations, error alerts).

  • To personalize your experience based on your profiles and brand preferences.

  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your information to serve advertising, and we do not share your data with advertisers.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored on Supabase, a database platform with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). We implement the following security measures:

  • Encryption of Pinterest access tokens and third-party credentials.

  • Secure authentication with hashed passwords (bcrypt).

  • Row Level Security (RLS) on the database: each user can only access their own data.

  • Restricted access for technical staff based on the principle of least privilege.

  • Regular automated data backups.

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. We recommend using strong, unique passwords for your account.

5. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • Pinterest: we share the data necessary to publish Pins on your behalf, in accordance with their Terms of Use and Developer Policies.

  • Google: if you enable the Google Drive integration, we access only the files you explicitly select.

  • OpenAI / Anthropic: text you enter for AI content generation may be processed by these platforms under their own privacy policies.

  • Infrastructure providers: Supabase and hosting services process data to operate the platform, under confidentiality agreements.

  • Legal obligations: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect legal rights.

6. Multiple Profiles and Client Data

FavPins allows you to manage multiple Pinterest profiles from a single account. If you use the app to manage accounts belonging to third parties (clients, employees, etc.), you are responsible for:

  • Obtaining the consent of those third parties to connect their Pinterest accounts.

  • Informing them about this Privacy Policy and how their data is used.

  • Ensuring that the use of their credentials complies with Pinterest's Terms of Service.

Each profile is isolated in the database and can only be accessed by the account owner.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as you maintain an active FavPins account. Specifically:

  • Scheduled Pins: automatically deleted 90 days after their publish date.

  • Analytics data: retained for a period of 12 months.

  • Account data: retained until you request account deletion.

  • Pinterest tokens: deleted immediately upon disconnecting your Pinterest account or deleting a profile.

You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.

  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Deletion: request that we delete your account and all associated data.

  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

  • Withdrawal of consent: disconnect Pinterest or Google Drive integrations at any time from Settings.

  • Objection: object to the processing of your data for certain purposes.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the service:

  • Session cookies: keep you logged in while using the app.

  • Preference cookies: remember your active profile and display settings.

We do not use advertising tracking cookies and we do not share cookie data with third parties for commercial purposes. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect app functionality.

10. Children's Privacy

FavPins is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete their information immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make significant changes:

  • We will notify registered users by email at least 15 days in advance.

  • We will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this document.

  • For material changes, we will request your consent again where required.

Your continued use of the service after the update date constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
